YMCA of Silicon Valley’s annual Spark Awards celebrates and honors Y members who have made an extraordinary impact on our community. Members like this John D. Crummey Red Triangle Award honoree, Scott Neely. Scott has been a leader in the YMCA community since the early 1980’s. By speaking up about the Y to anyone who will listen, his generous support, and contributing his skillset on our Board of Directors, he has made so many things possible for children and families throughout Silicon Valley. He championed two major capital projects that have created incredible spaces to strengthen our community: YMCA Camp Campbell and the Lewis and Joan Platt Family East Palo Alto YMCA. A consummate UPstander, he is passionate about YMCA Project Cornerstone. Scott’s dedication to youth, his tireless advocacy and invitations to others to get involved in supporting youth make Scott a most deserving recipient for this award.
