A Better Pool Experience for Everyone

  • A refreshed, more inviting pool — The pool will be completely replastered, providing a renewed, smoother finish and significantly improving the overall appearance of the pool.
  • Improved safety and code compliance — New pool tile and updated depth markers will improve visibility and bring pool markings up to current code requirements. New pool grates will also replace aging components around the pool.
  • Better accessibility — A new ADA pool chair lift will provide improved and more reliable access to the pool for members with mobility needs.
  • A new pool deck — New deck tile will provide a refreshed surface throughout the aquatics facility and improve the overall appearance of the pool area.
  • Improved lighting — New pool lights will improve underwater visibility and brighten the pool, creating a more welcoming environment for lap swimming, lessons, recreation, and other aquatic programs.
  • Updated and refreshed surroundings — New wall paint, pool tile, deck tile, and other finish improvements will give the entire pool area a cleaner, brighter, and more modern appearance.

Timeline At-a-Glance

Project Updates

November 3

After weeks of looking like a construction zone, our pool is finally starting to dress for the occasion!

New tile has entered the deck!

We’re officially moving from demolition to decoration! There’s still plenty of work to be done, but we’re starting to see little glimpses of our beautiful pool coming back to life.

We’re not quite ready to dive in, but things are definitely starting to look more pool-ish around here!

October 27

Our pool makeover is moving right along! The giant hole from last week is no longer stealing the spotlight, the pool floor is getting some serious attention, and our construction crew is hard at work giving this old pool a brand-new beginning!

And apparently, winter came early to Northwest! With all that white dust covering the pool, you'd think we were getting ready to build snowmen instead of swimming laps!

She's looking a little rough around the edges, but we all know you can't make a splash without making a little mess first!

While the pool isn't quite ready for swimming, it's making waves in the renovation department!

October 20

Just when we thought our pool couldn’t get any deeper… surprise! There’s now a giant hole in the bottom.

The walls are getting a fresh start, the old fixtures are coming out, and the crew is digging right in. At this point, our pool looks less like a place to swim and more like the start of a backyard treasure hunt.

All jokes aside, we’re making great progress toward our pool makeover, and we can’t wait to see it come together.

October 13

Our first full week of renovation is wrapped up, and what a week it’s been! The plaster is coming off, and our pool currently looks like the world’s largest sandbox. All we’re missing are the buckets, shovels, and a few sandcastles!

Our construction crew has been making serious waves (without a single drop of water), and things are moving right along.

October 6

The Northwest YMCA pool renovation is officially underway and off to a strong start! The water is out and the plaster demo has begun. Right now, it's more hard hats than swim caps.

We’ve only just begun, but we’re already making great strides toward our goal of providing a safer, more accessible, and brighter pool for our community.

Stay tuned as we continue to make a splash… just without the water for now!
