Develop and improve your own leadership skills by helping young students become environmentally aware individuals. Volunteer as a cabin leader to assist our teachers in educating 5th and 6th grade students about outdoor science.

Time commitment: 5 days, typically Monday – Friday. Volunteer cabin leaders arrive on Monday and outdoor science students arrive on Tuesday.
Training:
On Monday, we train and prepare you for the arrival of the students. We’ll teach you behavior management, child abuse prevention, appropriate games to play and stories to tell, and much more.
Things included:
We provide cabin leaders with free lodging and all meals.
Transportation: We offer transportation to camp from the Central YMCA on 1717 The Alameda in San Jose (Google Map). You can also find your own transportation.
To Volunteer:
You must be in 10th grade or older, and if you are in school, you must be in good academic standing.
If accepted, you will receive an email from us asking you to complete your Cabin Leader Registration packet, which requires you to obtain your teachers’ and parents’ signatures.
