Our Leadership

Our leaders foster an environment of inclusiveness within our organization and throughout the community. Here are the men and women leading YMCA Camp Campbell into the future:

Jill Gary, Executive Director 
Jill’s career at the Y began as a teen counselor-in-training at Pleasant Valley Camp in Wolfeboro, NH. She worked at camp through college and beyond. In 2006, she continued her career in the finance department at YMCA of Greater Boston, where she received valuable experience in nonprofit accounting. In 2010, Jill relocated to the Bay Area to become executive director of YMCA Camp Campbell. She received a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.

Stacey Otlin, Associate Executive Director 
Stacey began her Y career in 1992. She is a licensed educator and social worker who has taught and advised in both public and private schools. She received a bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in New York and a master’s degree from Simmons College in Boston. Before assuming her current position with the Y, she served in several roles, including camp director, after-school site director and behavior specialist.

Cathy Haas, Senior Program Director
Cathy became passionate about working with youth through her experiences as a Y counselor-in-training and a summer day camp counselor. Before assuming her current position, Cathy worked as a guide for white water rafting, adventure tours and cross-country skiing. She also spent several years as a recreation research consultant. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, a master’s degree from California State University Sacramento, and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah.

Sarah Shea, Senior Program Director
Sarah began her YMCA career at YMCA Frost Valley in New York. She came to YMCA Camp Campbell in 2006, working with the Outdoor Science School. Prior to her current position Sarah served as the Resident Camp Director and a Program Director. Sarah received a bachelor’s degree in outdoor education and recreation from Berea College.

Sharon Clark, Office Assistant
Sharon began her Y career in 1991. Before assuming her current position, she served in several roles, including Day Camp director and After School site director. She has worked as Camp’s registrar for the past 4 years.

Nick Carney, Senior Program Director 
Nick began his Y career in 2010 at Camp Wilson with the Central Ohio YMCA. Nick grew up as an avid camper in the state of Ohio doing a lot with the boy scouts and later earning the rank of Eagle. In the past he has worked with camping programs across the country, including Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, New Jersey and various parts of California. Nick graduated with a degree in Public Safety Management from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

Katie Saunders, Family Camp Director
Katie has been a part of the YMCA Camp Campbell community since she was 10 years old. After attending summer camp at YMCA Camp Campbell, she later rejoined the community as a summer camp counselor in 2009. Since then Katie has worked in several roles including Unit Leader, Group Program Specialist, Assistant Site Director with our child care programs, Day Camp Director, and now as our Family Camp Director. Katie graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Sociology and from San Jose State University with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
Trevor Baier, Summer Camp Director
Trevor started as a camp counselor at YMCA Camp Campbell in the summer of 2012.  He has worked with resident camp, day camp, and science camp in various roles since then, and became the summer camp director in 2016.  Trevor grew up in several locations throughout the country living in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Oregon, as well as spending six months living in Australia after finishing his undergraduate. Trevor graduated from Portland State University with a degree in history in 2014. 
Nick Willford, Program Director
Nick had his first camp experience at YMCA Storer Camps in Michigan as a camper. From that first experience as a camper he knew he wanted to work at camps. Nick moved to California and worked at a number of camps while he obtained his degree in Outdoor Leadership from Simpson University. Having worked for the YMCA of Silicon Valley as an after-school and day camp director he transferred to YMCA Camp Campbell in 2015.

Rich Scholten, Facility Manager 
Rich began his Y career in 2009 working in maintenance at Camp Jones Gulch. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Santa Cruz.

Meg Huggett, Aquatics Director
Meg is passionate about youth education and development. She started her career at YMCA Camp Campbell in 2012 as a Field Teacher in our Outdoor Science School and assumed her current position later that year. Meg has been a swim coach and instructor since 2002. She received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from University of California Santa Cruz.
