Class Descriptions

BODYATTACK®

Build strength and stamina through this high- intensity, sports-inspired interval training class that combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises.

BollyX®

Enjoy a high intensity, easy-to-follow Bollywood cardio workout combining dynamic choreography with dance-inspired music from around the world. All levels welcome.

BODYFLOW™

Combining Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates, this holistic workout features a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses choreographed to music that will help you build strength and flexibility, and bring your body into a state of harmony and balance. All levels welcome.

BODYPUMP®

Tone and sculpt your body in no time with this fun and fast paced class using barbells, dumbells or no weight at all. This is a high-intensity strength workout.

BODYCOMBAT™

Punch, kick and strike your way through this fun, non-contact, martial arts inspired workout that will help you boost your metabolism and energy. This is a high-intensity class.

Boot Camp

This high-intensity class combines strength training and cardio conditioning into a full-body workout that helps you burn calories, build power and improve your overall fitness.

Core & More

Tone your muscles and improve muscular endurance by performing a variety of weight-bearing and core exercises to sculpt your body, along with stretches to increase flexibility. This is a moderate intensity class. All levels welcome.

Enhance® Fitness

This low-impact class includes exercises designed to help you improve balance, flexibility, bone density, endurance, coordination, mobility and self-confidence. Appropriate for beginners and older adults.

H.I.I.T

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.

LABLAST®

LaBlast® class allows everyone to experience a customized routine from Disco to Tango, Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha, Waltz and more. The program can be made challenging enough for a professional dancer or provide beginners a great and fun workout.

Pilates

Improve posture, reduce stress and build long, lean muscles through this balanced approach to strength and flexibility training that will help your body move as an efficient, holistic system. All levels welcome.

Tai Chi

This self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching features a series of postures that flow into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Appropriate for beginners and older adults.

U-JAM®

This class blends world music, urban dance, old school hip-hop, and Bollywood into an athletic, high-intensity cardio workout that will make you sweat and energize your mind, body and spirit. All levels welcome.

Yoga

Beginner: This class teaches breathing techniques and yoga poses and stretches, with a particular emphasis on poses that have long holds that allow your body to stretch, strengthen and improve blood flow and flexibility. Appropriate for beginners and older adults. This is a beginner/intermediate practice.

Intermediate: Focusing on the relationship between movement and breathing, this class utilizes continuous movement from one pose to another to help you improve cardiovascular conditioning as well as muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. This is an intermediate level practice.

Advanced: Focusing on the relationship between movement and breathing, this class utilizes continuous movement from one pose to another to help you improve cardiovascular conditioning as well as muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. This is an intermediate/advanced practice.

Vinyasa: Focusing on the relationship between movement and breathing, this class utilizes continuous movement from one pose to another to help you improve cardiovascular conditioning as well as muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. This is a medium to high intensity workout.

Yogilates

Yogilates blends movements from Yoga and Pilates into a complete, high-intensity workout to increase strength, improve posture and reduce stiffness.

Zumba®

Enjoy a high-intensity workout that fuses Latin and international music with workout dance themes into a dynamic, exciting atmosphere. All levels welcome.

How do I join the virtual class?
  • Please register for the class.
  • You must register for each class date/time individually (No series registration)
  • Once registered you will receive the email, you can click on the highlighted link to join the meeting.

Do I need to download anything to join the class?

Yes, the Zoom Client for Meetings software is required to be installed on your computer/smart phone/tablet or browser. You will be prompted to install when you connect to the class.
 

Can I test to ensure my computer is ready?

Yes! Please join the Meeting Test to ensure your computer is happy!
 

Why am I being prompted to login before joining the class?

In an effort to maintain security in the virtual class we are requesting members to log in. Please create a Zoom account and log in with it. We understand other meetings/class you may have attended might not have required this step, but we are requiring it to keep all attendees safe. Creating an account is fast and takes just a couple of minutes.
 

Can the instructor hear me during class?

During class all participants are muted so you can only hear the instructor, the instructor cannot hear you (or your kids or dog). The instructor will unmute members after class to give you a chance to say hello to one another.
 

Why am I being asked for my date of birth when creating a Zoom account?

This is part of the policy of Zoom to keep us all safe.

Should I leave my video on or off during the class?

That is entirely your choice. If you want the instructor to be able to see you – then leave your video on. If you wish to just show your name and no video, then you can turn your video off.
 

Can non Y members join the class?

Our virtual classes are currently open to all. This may change at a later date, but for now, non Y members are welcome to register for classes and join us.
 

What if I have questions during class?

You can use the chat space to ask questions. We have a moderator online to answer questions, the instructor will not be able to respond during class.
 

Can I join the class on my TV?

Yes! There are multiple ways to connect your computer/smart phone/Tablet or browser to your TV.  You can either directly connect your computer to the TV using an HDMI cable or can use Chromecast (be sure to Cast your computer screen and not just the browser tab), Fire Stick, AirPlay etc. Your smart TV may also have additional connectivity options.
