Summer Camp: Youth Camps

August 1-3 — Secret Agent
August 4-6 — Secret Agent

This three-day/two-night camp is an opportunity for a first-time resident camp experience. A low 5:1 camper-to-staff ratio provides your child the caring, individual attention necessary to succeed in being away from home while having the time of their lives!

Mini Camp activities include swimming, climbing tower, cable slide, evening campfires, songs, skits, and exciting themed activities.

At this first level of a week-long camping experience, Trailblazers participate in most traditional camp activities, including swimming, archery, crafts, sports, climbing wall, drama, campfires, and an overnight outside. With our 8:1 camper-to-counselor ratio, we provide a safety-conscious setting that fosters respect for self, others and the environment. Trailblazer staff are dedicated to helping campers make new friends and creating a sense of belonging among the cabin group members. They assist campers in developing the essential skills of teamwork, responsibility, honesty, and caring that will help them be successful at camp and upon their return to home
and school.

As they progress to a new level of camping, Trekkers experience their favorite traditional camp activities (swimming, archery, crafts, sports, climbing wall, campfires, overnight under the stars), and choose their own skill activity each afternoon. Choices include theater, basketball, soccer, indoor hockey, and arts and crafts. With our 10:1 camper-to- staff ratio, Trekkers participate in nightly “raps” that focus on learning from the day’s events.

Register OnlineTrekkers - Creative Arts NEW
Entering grades: 6-7

2010 Dates:
July 11-16

Trekkers are given the opportunity to focus on an art of their choice. Learn guitar, rehearse a play, and perform on Friday, or go beyond camp’s arts and crafts program to learn advanced art skills. The camp will be shaped around camper’s desires in the creative arts.

Register OnlineCamp Fox Led by Palo Alto Family YMCA
Entering grades: 6-12

July 3-10

Camp Fox is the ideal beach getaway located on beautiful Catalina Island, where campers can enjoy the warm sun and cool ocean breeze. Most cabins are located just steps away from the beach, and some are among the trees on a hillside. The views are breathtaking. Activities include snorkeling, archery, sea kayaking, tubing, high and low rope challenges, fishing, beach volleyball, swimming, and nighttime campfires.

Register OnlineCamp Redwood Led by Palo Alto Family YMCA
Entering grades: 4-10

2010 Dates:
July 11-16

Camp Redwood is a rustic mountain camp set on Sequoia Lake near Kings Canyon National Park. Campers will enjoy swimming, crafts, hiking adventures, theme meals, archery, boating, campfire skits, stories and songs. All programs are done in cabin groups, which emphasize the small group experience, ensuring that campers form close bonds with leaders and cabin mates.
