Summer Camp: Teen Camps
Once campers enter their teen years, their needs and desires in a camp experience change. Teens are provided with more independence, greater challenges, increased responsibility, and as usual, outstanding counselors. The teen camp program focuses on encouraging teamwork and creating an atmosphere where teens feel safe, valued and free to express one’s self. This fun engaging week includes an introductory backpacking trip from Big Basin State Park to the sea.
This teen camp includes daily lessons and practice in this fun sport. Instructors will teach the basics of disc golf and help advanced players improve their skills. No experience is necessary—just the desire to play and learn the ins and out of disc golf. Campers will even get the opportunity to try out an off site disc golf course, while they try to out play their counselors!
This 12-day, off-site camp is packed with action and wonderful opportunities to make new friends and take on the world with a new adventure every day. Campers rock climb in the Santa Cruz Mountains, backpack and kayak in the Lake Tahoe area, and white water raft the American River. Camping under the stars, camp fires, and group bonding are sure to make this summer one of the best experiences of a lifetime.
YMCA Camp Campbell’s beach campers camp under the stars in a safe, natural California State Park campground. Campers explore and learn about the local area and beaches. Teens hike local trails, take one surf lesson, play disc golf, explore Big Sur beaches, and participate in beach activities, including sand castle building, sports, and enjoying the Pacific Ocean. Beach campers get to build friendships with their peers and live with exceptional role models for the week.

Backpack, hike, cook, explore and make positive choices as a group. Take these skills home and learn to be an everyday leader. 12-day Leadership Option
