Why families choose YMCA Camp Campbell

  • We know camp; since 1936 YMCA Camp Campbell has been serving the Silicon Valley and providing safe and fun camping programs.
  • Our mission is to strengthen community by improving the quality of life and inspiring individuals and families to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. We accomplish this through intentional activities, providing opportunities for families to connect free of distraction and a dedication to quality programs.
  • We believe fun is a catalyst for social development! We integrate values based programming into our favorite activities such as archery, climbing wall and outdoor cooking to help young people thrive, build confidence and become healthy, caring, responsible adults.
  • We work to ensure everyone, regardless of gender, income, faith, sexual orientation or cultural background has the opportunity to live life to its fullest and we invite guests of all family types and gender backgrounds to register for our programs.
  • We believe that health awareness starts now; made with love by our dedicated kitchen staff, we provide our families with healthy eating choices ranging from fresh, homemade meals, a fully stocked salad bar and options for individuals with dietary restrictions.
  • We believe camp is an essential experience for all children and families, therefore we offer financial assistance for all of our programs.

Our values-based programming

We integrate the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all of our programs, including:

  • Morning Inspiration: Each morning we begin with a time for reflection and an activity focused on values.
  • Rags Program: Campers ages 12 and older are given the opportunity to participate in a Y program started in 1914. Parents or guardians can help campers set goals focused on character building and participate in a long-standing camp tradition.
  • Beads Program: Throughout the weekend we encourage families to recognize others for their positive contributions towards are camp community. In our beads programs, families can give beads to others they see being caring, honest, respectful and responsible and acknowledge them for their value.
  • Gratitude Tree: Throughout the day, families are encouraged to share statements of gratitude with camp via our gratitude tree. This allows our community to share with others the things they appreciate and find important.
  • Dining Hall Volunteers: Each meal, families are invited to volunteer with our staff to help clean up our common eating and meeting space. This helps our families feel a sense of responsibility for their shared spaces and is an empowering part of our weekend experience for our younger, future staff members of camp.
