Teen Programs
The YMCA cares about teens. The YMCA cultivates teen leaders. The YMCA creates opportunities for teens to contribute to their communities.
At the Southwest YMCA, we pride ourselves in making a significant impact on the lives of teens. Our teen programs offer plenty of opportunities for positive and life-long relationships with the youth in our community. All of our programs are service-learning based and promote the developmental asset approach in teens. We develop leadership in teens though program involvement and meaningful community service opportunities.

 Youth and Government (Grades 9-12)
Join more than 2,000 9th through 12th grade high school students as they take over the government of California! Students learn leadership skills and gain hands-on experience in the workings of state government. The highlight of the program is a five-day mock legislature held in February at the state capitol in Sacramento. A program for teens who want to make a difference! Program runs throughtout the school year.
