Membership Director
Jose Garcia immigrated to the United States from Guatemala when he was 5 years old. This challenging transition taught him the importance of hard work, perseverance and the importance of connecting with his community. In high school, Jose worked creating websites for several local companies, as well as assisting with other aspects of marketing. Additionally, he contributed to a variety of layout brochures, catalogs, graphics and logos for skateboard companies. Jose started working for the Y in 2006 because he wanted help improve the lives of those in his community. He loves the family atmosphere at the Sequoia YMCA and is fond of meeting new people everyday. On his time off, Jose enjoys skateboarding, reading, drawing, playing tennis, swimming, making creations with Photoshop, watching movies, and perfecting his Elvis impersonation.
