Like all Y programs, swim, sports and play is open to all with financial assistance available.



Aquatics Programs

Whether you want to learn how to swim, exercise, or just unwind and have fun in the water, with two outdoor swimming pools, the El Camino YMCA has an aquatic program for you. Nationwide tens of millions of people have turned to the YMCA for water activities.

->Family Swim

Special times are available for anyone interested in enjoying the swimming pool in a fun, relaxing environment. Children age 6 and under must have direct adult supervision and contact in the water at all times.

->Swim Lessons

Learn how to swim at the YMCA! Swim lessons are taught by certified swim instructors and include instruction in personal safety, water sports and games, stroke development, rescue and personal growth. Private and Small group swim lessons are available for all ages and swimming abilities. Lessons will resume in February 2017.

->Youth Swim Club

(Ages 6-14) with a minimum of Starfish or Fish level experience, the YMCA Youth Swim Club introduces youth to the sport of competitive swimming. The Club focuses on personal best and team sportsmanship rather than competition. Practices focus on endurance, fitness and stroke development. Each season includes practices, a swim meet, a community service project, socials and stroke development programs. A calendar is given out at first practice.

->Water Exercise

Water group exercise classes are a wonderful alternative to “land” exercises. With water exercise, there is less impact on your joints, but you still receive the same cardiovascular workout as you would if you were doing it on “land.” All fitness levels and non-swimmers are welcome!

->Lap/Fitness Swim

Lap/Fitness swim is for members who wish to use swimming for a workout. Swimmers must be able to swim the full length of the pool continuously without support. If space is available - exercising, walking and floating are permitted during fitness swim. Workout equipment is available from the lifeguard upon request.

->Masters Swim Team

(Ages 18+) Enjoy a coached workout with our adult swim team. Swimmers in Masters Swim Team have a variety of goals including fitness, fun and training for open water swims or triathlons. Our coaches will help you meet your swimming goals! Masters is a continuous, ongoing team that meets weekly.
