Have you been curious about Pilates, but don't know where to start? Are you a long-time Pilates participant looking for new and innovative workouts? Are you interested in adding core strength and flexibility training to your current fitness program for optimal performance? Welcome to the El Camino YMCA Pilates Program!

Benefits of Pilates Training: 

Develops a Strong Core: Building on the principals of Joseph Pilates, this training focuses on strengthening core postural muscles of the abdomen and back to keep the body balanced, providing support for the spine and healthy movement..

Trains Efficient Patterns of Motion: Exercises are designed to train your muscles in fluid movements. Spinal awareness and optimal posture are the foundation for retraining your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion. This is invaluable for sports performance, injury recovery, and optimal health.

Increases Flexibility and Body Awareness: Stretching your muscles as you strengthen them facilitates increased joint mobility and stability. Identifying and understanding your own patterns of motion develops your body awareness.


Pilates Classes

Pilates - Group Classes

->Pilates Apparatus Group Classes

Four participants per class

Before signing up for a class, participants, must contact Doods Smith for a private assessment/evaluation. Additional private or semi-private sessions may be required prior to enrolling in a group class.

Fees: Group Classes are sold by the month. The number of sessions per month will vary from 3 to 5 depending upon the day of the week selected. The group CLASS FEE is $30 per person x number of classes within the month. (For example: $30 x 4 Monday classes = $120.)

Registration: Payment must be received before the beginning of the month. For maximum physical benefits and better understanding of the philosophy and mechanics of Pilates, continuous enrollment is recommended.

->Private & Semi-Private Training

Private Sessions:

  • $70 for one session
  • $260 for 4 sessions ($65/session)
  • $480 for 8 sessions ($60/session)

Semi-Private (2 person) Sessions:

  • $50 per person per session
  • $188 per person for 4 sessions ($47/session)
  • $360 per person for 8 sessions ($45/session)

 

Pilates - TRX

->Small Group Training and TRX®

Six participants per class

Small Group Pilates

Participants work in a personalized setting to further understand proper alignment, and modify exercises to meet individual needs. Class formats include:

  • Beginning Mat
  • Accessories
  • Introduction to Apparatus

TRX® Suspension Training

Used by US Navy SEALs, TRX® suspension training is a total-body workout with hundreds of exercises and variations using nothing but your own bodyweight to generate resistance. Add TRX® suspension training to your exercise program for optimal strength and conditioning!
