Debbie Vasquez
Executive Director

Debbie has been with the Y for 20 years, serving six as an Executive Director at Mt. Madonna YMCA and holding a variety of other positions at four branches within Silicon Valley. She began her career in 1990 teaching gymnastics, and corporate fitness, and working as a camp leader. She received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management from San Jose State University. In her spare time, she loves to exercise, and compete in triathlons, and to spend quality time with her family. Debbie has a passion for the Y's focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

 

Dustin Clark
Program Director, After-school Programs

Dustin Clark is Program Director of After-school Programs for East Valley Family YMCA. He began his YMCA career in 2003 as Site Director for the branch's after-school program at Russo and McEntee Academy, formerly known as Shields Elementary School. He received a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University.

 

David Monarrez
Aquatics Director

David Monarrez is the Aquatics Director for East Valley Family YMCA. He began his YMCA career in 1986 as a Swim Lessons Instructor. In 1997 he relocated to Tijuana, Mexico, as Director of the Casa YMCA. He returned to East Valley Family YMCA in 2001 as a Lifeguard before being named Associate Program Director of Aquatics and Aquatics Director. In 2008 he assumed responsibility for the branch's Group Exercise program.

 

Gary Pienkowski
Associate Executive Director

Gary Pienkowski is Associate Executive Director for East Valley Family YMCA, directing activities for health and wellness, aquatics and youth sports programs. He began his YMCA career in San Francisco as the Health and Wellness Director for the Richmond District, Embarcadero and Central YMCAs. He also was the Associate Executive Director of the Chinatown and Embarcadero YMCAs. He received a master's degree in physical education.

 

Danielle Ramirez-King
Director of Administration and Support Services

Danielle Ramirez-King is Director of Administration and Support Services for East Valley Family YMCA. She began her YMCA career in 1999 as a Membership Representative at South Valley Family YMCA before transferring to the YMCA of Silicon Valley's Association Office in the Business Resource Center. From there, she moved to East Valley Family YMCA as Administrative Manager before assuming her current position.

 

Angela Rodriguez
Program Director, After-school Programs

Angela Rodriguez is Program Director for After-school Programs at East Valley Family YMCA, with responsibility for YMCA after-school enrichment in the Alum Rock School District. She began her YMCA involvement as a volunteer and joined the staff in 1999.

 

Lupe Ruvalcaba
Associate Executive Director

Lupe Ruvalcaba is Associate Executive Director of East Valley Family YMCA. She began her YMCA career in 1999 as a Noontime Sports Leader for the Mayfair Program before being named Youth Program Coordinator for its literacy program and the Mayfair Summer Day Camp Director. She served as Teen Director overseeing the branch's Y-Achievers Program and Youth and Government and opened a new Teen Center at the facility. Through the years, she has held a variety of positions, including Senior Program Director overseeing after-school enrichment programs, Associate Executive Director for Community Programs overseeing licensed child care, and roles in camp, youth sports, technology, marketing, and the branch's Arts and Humanities department. She is a recipient of the 2005 Portrait of Success: An Exemplary Leadership Award Honoring Hispanic Role Models. She received a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University and is currently pursuing a master's degree from Springfield College.

 

Kirsten Shaw
Program Director, Youth & Family Programs

Kirsten Shaw is Program Director of Yoth & Family Programs for East Valley Family YMCA. She began her YMCA career in San Diego County as an after-school leader before being named Program Director. She relocated to the Bay Area in 2006 and joined the staff at East Valley Family YMCA in 2007.
