Our Leadership

 

Barbara Geisler

Director of Administration
In 2000, Barbara graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts double major in Behavioral Science and Psychology and an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. She has more than 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector providing direct and professional services throughout the Bay Area including work history with Seneca Center, Child Quest International, Emergency Housing Consortium (AKA EHC Life Builders), and the Victim Witness Assistance Center. Barbara joined the YMCA of Silicon Valley’s Association Office as the Executive Administrative Assistant in March of 2005. In January 2007, she assisted with the Grand Opening of the Lewis and Joan Platt East Palo Alto Family YMCA and has since remained at this branch as the Director of Administration.

 

Michele Webster

Membership Director
Currently a student at San Francisco State, Michele joined the YMCA in June 2008. Born and raised in Redwood City, she graduated from Woodside High School and obtained an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Cañada College. In her spare time Michele plays basketball as well as piano and guitar, and says she loves working here at the Y because in addition to helping the community, she gets to help members as they set life goals, involve themselves in social growth and commit to fitness.

 

Rocio Medina

Program Director
Rocio loves children and she loves the water. She played division 2 polo, and still enjoys water polo, swimming
and open water racing. She’s worked as a swim coach and as Special Needs Coordinator/Pool Manager for
the City of San Bruno. In addition to her time at Sonoma State and College of San Mateo, she is certified in Aquatic Management and as an instructor for American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).

 

Randy Gurnee

Facilities Director
Randy Gurnee grew up in Fremont and attended college at Arizona State University and Newschool of Architecture. He has several years of experience in architecture, construction, aquatics, and facility management. He is a NSPF certified pool/spa operator and ARC first aid/guard and CPR/ AED certified. He enjoys coaching swimming, camping, hiking, boating, and spending time with his wife and his dachshund. He also enjoys solving problems, working with his hands, and being part of a team.

 

Senque Carey

Community Programs Director
Senque has always loved working with children, usually in sports, and has been a mentor to many of the youth
in East Palo Alto. A graduate of the University of New Mexico with a degree in Communication, he puts those
skills to work building the best community program he can envision, bringing the community together and
making a difference in people’s lives. In his free time, he coaches basketball and says his dream is to play
basketball at any level.

 

Alma Pulido

Health & Wellness Coordinator
Alma loves to connect with people and share experiences as a fitness professional. She joined the Y in 2008 as a fitness trainer and coordinator for Fit Families before assuming her current position in 2012. Before coming to the Y, Alma worked with cardiac rehab and physical rehab patients in a clinical setting. She received a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise science and fitness from San Francisco State University.
