Over the years, the YMCA of Silicon Valley has changed lives by providing life-affirming programs and services, where they are needed most. From Gilroy to Redwood City, from San Jose to Palo Alto, local YMCAs have anchored communities, reinforced family bonds, and helped thousands of people to attain greater health and well-being.
Capital Development efforts allow the Y to expand its reach and multiply the impact of its programs and services. Renovation or expansion projects of existing facilities and the development of new facilities ensure that the YMCA is ready to meet the ever changing needs of our region.
Our primary capital development project today is the renovation and rebuild of YMCA Camp Campbell, a year-round resident camp nestled in the tall redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains. For more than 75 years, Camp Campbell has provided both exceptional educational and recreational experiences for kids and families. To date, more than $16 million of the original $19.6 million goal has been raised helping to transform camp into a facility that synchronizes efficiency with state of the art facilities. But we’re not done yet as we continue to look for additional contributors to help us finish the job.
