YMCA of Silicon Valley is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Our mission is to strengthen our community by improving the quality of life and inspiring individuals and families to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body.
With the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility as our guide, we believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That's why every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
At the Y, we welcome everyone. When you join the Y, you belong to a community of men, women and children who strive every day to be healthy, confident, connected and secure. When you give to the Y, you continue to strengthen our community and move us all forward by providing financial assistance for people who need us the most. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in making a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own community. When you advocate for the Y, you join a diverse movement committed to supporting and serving our community through promoting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Our Community Impact Report:
As one of the largest YMCA associations in the U.S. and one of the largest nonprofits in Silicon Valley, we serve nearly 200,000 constituents in communities that span from Gilroy to Redwood City and from the Pacific Coast to the San Francisco Bay.
Our locations include 9 full health and wellness facilities and YMCA Camp Campbell, a wilderness resident camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We partner with the City of Morgan Hill to operate health and fitness programming for all ages and senior adult activities at the Centennial Recreation Center.
YMCA of Silicon Valley has a presence in 290 schools throughout the region, providing childcare, after school programs, health and fitness activities, and initiatives to engage adults with youth for positive experiences. We also partner with more than 200 other community organizations to help children and adults live healthier and become more active.
The annual budget for the YMCA of Silicon Valley is nearly $75 million. Approximately 20% of the Y’s operating revenue comes from private and public support, including individual and corporate donors, foundations, grants, and government agencies. The remaining operating revenue is generated from membership and program fees. We provide $4.5 million of financial assistance to ensure that our Y can serve children, families and individuals from all economic backgrounds.
YMCA of Silicon Valley is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
